Busy Day!
Today was busy as expected since we are trying to catch up on a few things from last week as well as get things done before the newlyweds leave on their honeymoon. Specifically, we had the trim farrier here today which, as many of you know, is a day we dread. It means being out in the pastures trying to catch the youngsters, worming, and otherwise vaccinating very unhappy clients- the weanlings, yearlings, and 2 year olds. But, we got the job done for the most part. Unfortunately, Jacob, our farrier has to come back Tuesday to finish up all the youngsters. So, Sharon is definitely not looking forward to that.
We finally got invoices done as well as all paperwork and entries for championships etc etc etc. Sharon's husband, Lynn, left for a week today and Patrick and Alyssa will be leaving Monday. Hopefully, nothing too difficult will occur while everyone is away.
Our dog, Girl, who was bitten by the snake, is doing really well and is almost back to normal. Hopefully she has learned her lesson about snakes.
Needless to say, Patrick and Alyssa are very excited to get on with their honeymoon and lay on the white beaches of Jamaica, sipping Pina Coladas. The only problem is that our calender in October looks hideous. We are going to all be passing each other in the night as we attempt to handle all of the things on our plate such as; Honeymoon, prep and x-rays for the Candy Store Sport Horse Auction, Heike Kemmer Clinic, Sharon's AHS judging schedule, AHS inspections at Stargate, weaning foals, accommodating people who wish to come and look at horses and, finally, Championships in Houston. It is really going to be tight. Unfortunately, November doesn't look much better at this point. The good news is that December looks pretty quiet at this point- other then Christmas of course.
We had clients here from Canada Tuesday and Wednesday and we will post the final outcome of that visit when all the details are finished.
Our wonderful little Connemara cross yearling, Bourbon Street, has a buyer! We will let you know who it is once all the details are complete. We are excited because he is getting a really good dressage home.
We will be sure to blog tomorrow before Patrick and Alyssa leave!!
