Newlyweds Return!

Patrick and Alyssa got home yesterday evening from the wedding and all went well and the wedding was perfect.  Alyssa has posted some pictures and once the pro photos come in she will share them with you.  Everyone had a great time and now the next big event is the honeymoon beginning Monday in Jamaica.

Sharon did pretty well while they were gone and kept everything around the farm going.  The only big event was that Girl (the labrador) got bitten by a poisonous snake on her nose and we had to give antibiotics all over the weekend.  Her face swelled up huge but it is beginning to go down.  The other dogs, as well as Girl, missed Patrick and Alyssa terribly.

Today, things got back to normal and the horses got back to work after their near week off.  This afternoon, Sharon and Alyssa took Romance to Weatherford for an ultrasound to see how much improvement has been made.  Her injury is much improved and we can even start walking her under saddle now.  If there is a good thing, she looks quite beautiful now and is totally black since she has been stall bound for a while and not gotten sun bleached.

After we went to ESMS we stopped by October Hill Farm in Weatherford.  It is owned by Wendy Davis and they are a very well known Hunter/Jumper and Holsteiner breeding farm.  They stand some famous show jumping stallions as well as maintain a high profile in national H/J competitions.  October Hill has decided to have a Sport Horse Auction featuring some of their horses and fine horses from other breeders of Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing horses.  We are very excited about this and we are currently discussing which of our horses we will consign to this auction which will be held in Weatherford November 19-21.  It will be a first class event and there will even be online bidding for people unable to attend.  It is called "Candy Store Sport Horse Auction" and the website, which is currently under construction, will be up shortly for your review.  We will keep you posted on our decisions regarding our horses.
