NEWS FLASH!  Great opportunity!  We need to make room and time for a huge 2008 crop of expected foals!  We are therefore very motivated to find the right homes for the few weanlings and yearlings bred here at the farm.  This is a chance to purchase a very well-bred youngster with great potential for dressage or jumping.  The sire of most of these youngsters is Bonheur, a son of the great Brentano II who is renowned throughout the world for his reputation for producing International FEI dressage horses.  This breeding is coveted throughout the dressage world.

RIP Tango
February 20, 1987 - February 29, 2008

Bred by Owen McGill of Wheatland, WY

Listed as one of the most important and influential Longhorn Bulls in history, Tango enjoyed nine years of retirement at Garner Creek Farms before passing away in his sleep Friday afternoon.

Very nice pregnant Hanoverian broodmare for sale.  Portiana, 9 year old imported black Prince Thatch XX x Eldorado/Grunewald, is a lovely young mare who is safely in foal to Contucci due in early May.  This mare is owned by a friend of mine who has moved to Santa Fe and is cutting her horse herd for that reason.   Don’t miss this opportunity to purchase a very good mare with a foal that should also be excellent.  See Horses For Sale page.

Bonheur had a very successful 2007 breeding season & we will have 13 foals here on the farm next spring.  We look forward to a the 2008 breeding & foaling season.  Thanks to all & we look forward in the future to seeing Bo's offspring in the sporthorse arena.

Don't miss the January '07 issue of Dressage Today, as the cover boy is Bling It On GCF, a 2006 Hanoverian/Connemara colt by ES BonheurAlso look on pages 70 & 71 for interesting comments by Barbara Funk on conformation basics, using ES Bonheur as an example of a well balanced and well shaped sporthorse!  We are proud of Bo & Bling!!!

Volker Ehlers - Volker has spent his lifetime breeding, training, riding and judging warmblood horses.  He served his Bereiter apprenticeship for 3 1/2 years under Hermann Schride, formerly European champion and gold medal winner in Grand Prix jumping.  After passing the Bereiter testing, Volker went to Alwin Schockemohle's stable where he trained & showed grand prix jumpers for 8 years.  During this time he continued to ride & train dressage horses under the instruction of Herbert Rehbein. In 1984 he emigrated to North America, working in Canada & later in Washington state.  As VP of Glenwood Farms he trained jumpers, dressage horses and prepared young stallions for their performance tests. Although he & his wife, Judy, have retired to Montana he has fortunately agreed to come to this farm in Texas on a regular basis.  Anyone interested please let us know.  Auditors welcome.
