Mission Statement

Garner Creek Farms is our home as well as a breeding and training facility for some of the best Hanoverian horses in the United States. Our goal is threefold:  to breed the best riding horses for Dressage and Jumping possible; to provide our horses with the absolute best training, handling and riding possible so that they will carry these important first lessons with them to a successful, competitive life; and to import a small number of very select riding horses and broodmares to complement the riders and breeders in the U.S.  We consider the best riding horses to be those of sound mind and body, showing beautiful expressive movement, athletic ability and talent, as well as a joy to be around and ride.  We are dedicated to great horses and their ability to enhance and enrich our lives!

Welcome to the beginning of spring at Garner Creek Farms!

The babies keep everything interesting this time of year.

The roses are blooming...

And the butterflies are visiting...

Sharon's gardening is paying off!

We missed the leaves on the trees!

Bliss wants to know when foaling season will be over. Update: Bliss is done, she had a lovely colt! I think she now wants to know when we'll be weaning!

Pearl says that Bermuda Blue absolutely cannot play with Bobbie Socks, he is a very bad influence. And Pearl being a bad influence on Bobbie Socks.
Cletus' Tree, a centuries old Live Oak tree.
What's up?

GCF Babysitters
These pictures are dedicated to our Babysitters who have helped us raise some wonderful horses.

Typical winter morning - Zorro, the babysitter, is laying down on the job again!!!

Victor, GCF's token Arabian, is in charge of the yearlings.

Ginger, former recip mare now
permanent babysitter resident - isn't she cute!!

Joe
Joe has quite a history.  Sharon donated Joe to the Houston Police Department where he proudly served in the
Mounted Patrol division for 14 years.  Upon retirement from HPD he returned home to Garner Creek Farms.
We don't call Joe a babysitter, his official title is "Young Horse Supervisor" - a position he's well qualified for.

The new honorary babysitter. (Who lives in the creek through the 2 year old colts pasture)

Thank you to Dream (left), who died at 36 after seven good years of babysitting youngsters at GCF.
