Sharon Garner - Along with my husband Lynn, I am the owner of Garner Creek Farms. A former Attorney turned horsewoman, my primary roles are now breeding and training dressage horses. I purchased my first Hanoverian Stallion in 1997 and have been importing, breeding and competing Hanoverians ever since. I showed hunters from 1983 to 1994 and have competed two different horses through Prix St. Georges. I continue travels to the Hanoverian region in Germany for both buying and educational reasons. I have served on the Board of Directors of the American Hanoverian Society as well as the Breeding Technology Committee, and have recently been appointed a Learner Judge by the AHS. Garner Creek Farms has been host to the American Hanoverian Society Mare/Foal Inspections for more than four years. I have completed several breeding courses at Texas A & M as well as a week long intensive course at Colorado State University, and an Equine Breeding Management Course at Sul Ross State University. Stefan Blanken - Stefan lives and trains in Hepstedt, Germany and is a former Verden auction rider with a successful training facility of his own. He is an outstanding rider and he has started and trained many of our imported horses before they arrived here in the States. For the past 2 years he has been chosen by Landgestut Celle (Hanoverian State Stud) as the test rider for dressage for the 3 and 4 year old state stallions at the end of the 11 month testing at Adelheidorf and was the winner of the Federal Competitions of Professional Riders in 1992. Stefan has been a tremendous success at GCF with yearly visits to the Ranch and we look forward to his next visit in April of 2008. |
