Brentano II X Rhonda (Roncalli xx)

Read Barbara Funk's article from January's Dressage Today

Bonheur is the first approved son of the great Brentano II to stand in the United States. Brentano II was himself a successful Federal Championship competitor and was trained to advanced level and is highly esteemed as a hereditary transmitter of rideability. He sent one daughter, Brentina, and one son, Barclay II, to the Olympic Games in Dressage in Athens, 2004. The Thoroughbred, Roncalli xx, excellent in gait, has received very high ranking and is listed as one of the most successful representatives of his breed in the FN breeding value rating. His riding points are 147 and he is known to pass on good size and best character. In the third generation, the performance winner Glander, himself a full brother to the Olympic horse Grande Giso, embodies an interesting breeding variation to the top class Grande. The Trakehner, Garamond, who became the most influential sire of his generation in the Rhineland, introduced noble blood into the pedigree. The dam, Rhonda, descending from a great Hanoverian dynasty, produced the stallions Artist (Marbach State Stallion) and Augustiner (private stallion Hanover).

Bonheur absolved his stallion licensing test in Adelheidsdorf in 1996, achieving a top evaluation in rideability index. He received a 9 for his walk and an 8 for his trot and canter, also receiving 8's for his character and temperament. Bonheur won the Championship Stallion Show in Griesbeek, Holland in 1997 against very important competition, most of whom where 5 and 6 year olds. Bonheur qualified for the Bundeschampionat in 1998 as a five year old. As a six year old, he won the prestigious Nobilis Cup in Bremen, Germany. He has won numerous dressage shows in "S" Level, primarily in Holland since his previous owner lives close to Holland. His offspring are very elegant with tremendous rideability. They have shown high performance ability in dressage, bringing Bonheur's "Breeding Value" in dressage to the top 10% in Germany with an overall 150 points. In 2004, Ulla Salzgeber qualified her wonderful 6 year old Bonheur son, Bogner B, for the Bundeschampionat. Furthermore, Bonheur's 6 year old son was the Champion Young Horse in all of Finland in 2004.
My 2006 crop of Bonheur foals are exquisite and exceptional in every way.  One colt was the Grand Champion Colt of the USDF Southern Series Championships!  Two of his fillies were Champion Fillies at their respective AHS inspections.  And more....   See individual foal achievements under young horses.  Look at his pedigree at the end of more pictures!

Breeding Fee: $1800 ($400 booking fee included), LFG, Discount for State's Premium, Elite, Multiple mares, and Early booking (Jan. 15th)

Five Star
Hanoverian Licensed Stallion
2004 Dark Bay
Florestan I (Fidelio-Rheingold) x SPS Wisconsin (Wolkenstein II-Calypso II)

Five Star just passed his performance testing at Adelheidsdorf, Germany.  I am happy that he is a lifetime approved Hanoverian Stallion.   Five Star placed an impressive ninth out of thirty in his first show in the January indoors in Verden, Germany under rider Stefan Blanket. Most impressive were 9's for rideabilty and type.  My plan at this time is to leave Five Star in Germany during 2008.

Wildwych Don Juan (aka DJ)
2005 Dun Purebred Connemara Stallion

Glenormiston Flurry Knox (Abbeyleix Finbar AUS) x Wildwych Dreamtime (Aran Milano AUS)

DJ is exceeding my expectations for a wonderful Connemara Stallion prospect.  He has beautiful conformation and movement, and a fantastic character.  Since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I should tell you that his sire, Flurry Knox, just received huge points at his inspection by Australian inspector, John Robertson.  He received 88 points out of a possible 100, including 9's for his head, neck and shoulder, body, paces and movement.  He received a perfect 10 for temperament.  The judge stated, "An ideal breeding prospect."  Let's hope that D.J. becomes more important than his father!  D.J. just returned from the trainers in Mid-March and he's doing great undersaddle with Laurie. He looks to have a very bright career in front of him.

ES Gouverneur
Elite Hanoverian Stallion
1982 liver chestnut, 16 hh
Grandduell X Arnika (Asbeits)
Approved: AHS, ISR/Oldenburg N.A.
Oldenburg Verband

Gouveneur is a grandson of the famous Grande who is ranked in the German Eternal Top 10 Sire List. Grande is the grandsire of U.S. champion and Olympic medalist Gifted, and is also the grandsire (through two different sons) of the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist Gigolo FRH and Grunox. Gouverneur's sire, Grandduell, was himself an outstanding sire and performance horse, having been second out of 57 horses at his stallion licensing on 1978 at Adelheidsdorf! His sociable attitude with ability and willingness as well as his rideability and abundant movements carry on through Gouverneur. Gouv's dam is an A-line mare with the famous Abhang I on both sides of her pedigree.

While on the Arizona show jumper circuit in the 1980's , this dynamic stallion was chosen by the American Hanoverian Society as an exceptional example of the Hanoverian breed and his photograph was used in an AHS promotional brochure. Gouverneur was long listed in Dressage for the 1996 Canadian Olympic team, was twice Canadian Sport Horse Champion of the Year and was selected Get of Sire Champion in 1990.

This stallion moved from Canada to Texas in August of 1997 and has since been busy on the show circuit and in training for his continued dressage career. He was Reserve Champion at Grand Prix, Region 9, SWDC, 1998. He qualified his amateur owner for Championships at Prix St. George in 2000 and in 2001.

Gouverneur has produced many premium foals and both line performance champions. He stamps his foals with outstanding willingness and disposition. A son of Gouverneur was recently awarded the coveted Canadian Award of Excellence in Dressage. Gouverneur presented the Champion Yearling Filly and the 7th place Yearling Filly, Dressage at Devon, 2002. He is approved for breeding with the AHS, two-star ISR Oldenburg, N.A. and Oldenburg Verband. Gouverneur is retired from his riding and breeding career and spending his senior years happily in his pasture with Treat.

ES Fred Astair  (Sold to Tom Noone)
1998 Hanoverian Stallion
Dark Brown, 16.3 hh
Fabriano x Goldpuppe (Godewind)

Fred, the first approved son of Fabriano in the U.S.A., had a successful three year old show season competing in Material Classes in Germany, before being imported to the U.S. He ultimately became Reserve Champion for the qualified 3-year-old stallions for the 2001 Bundeschampionate.

His sire, Fabriaino, has fulfilled high expectations having already produced more than 10 approved sons and more than 50 State Premium Mares, including the 1995 Schillerslage Show Champion and 10 mares who where winners of their class at different shows, as well as the winner of the 2 year olds at the traditional Louis-Wiegels Show in 1997. His progeny are equally good in dressage and jumping ability. In 1996 he presented Fats Domino as a finalist at the Federal 3 year Old Riding Horse Championship. To Date, he has presented almost 50 candidates for the Verden Elite Auctions, of whom Forrest Gump was sold for the incredible sum of DM 350,000. At the Elite Auction in October, 2001, a Fabriano daughter topped the sale on video only, for the sum of DM 240,000.  The pedigree of this stallion goes back to Godewind (Galan and the famous Shagya Ango-Arab line) and to Spitzweg on the dams side. This is a unique pedigree of tremendous interest.

Future breedings for cooled shipped semen will be handled through Tom Noone. For frozen semen, contact Sharon Garner.
